Giants and Jets are out. Now what?

Now that the Jets and the Giants are done for the season, most NY football fans think they are probably too disgusted to watch the rest of the games. But if they are like me, despite the pain, they will find a way to watch the conference championship games and will pick a team to support.

So I'm going to make a case as to why NY fans should support each team.

Pittsburgh Steelers: The Steelers are a classic team and for some fans it is strange to see a team like the Cardinals win the Super Bowl. For traditionalists, the Steelers are the pick. Also, head coach Mike Tomlin is pretty likeable. At age 36 he can win his first Super Bowl in what looks like it will be a pretty successful career. Finally, James Harrison is one of the best stories in the NFL. Harrison is the first Defense Player of the Year to have gone undrafted. Harrison was not only undrafted, but he was cut four times earlier in his career. It's easy to root for someone with that much determination, so the Steelers could be your team.

Baltimore Ravens: The Ravens are the villains of the NFL Playoffs. Am I the only one who feels like the Ravens are like a bad guy from the WWF? So if you like that sort of thing, then you'll be rooting for the Ravens. Also, who is more exciting to watch then Ed Reed? The answer is no one. If you don't believe me, watch his record setting pick six.

Arizona Cardinals: Everyone loves an underdog. No one thought the Cardinals would get this far and now they are one home win away from the Super Bowl. They are fun to watch. They have a wide open offense and Warner fits their system perfectly. They have Larry Fitzgerald and he does things like this.

Philadelphia Eagles: If you are a New York fan there is no way you can root for the Eagles. For Giants fans this is obvious. But even for Jets fans they should not be your team. They've already won the World Series and they are a rival city to NY. Pick one of the other three.
